july 2nd,
You may have noticed that kayaprajna is no more, and has been assimilated into this new yogananta domain. This is happening for a few reasons – mainly the upcoming teacher training program. Instead of creating a new site for the training and maintaining two sites side by side, I am merging my yoga schedules and information here on yogananta. Besides, yogananta is easier to say than kayaprajna!
Yogananta means yoga without limitation. It invokes the infinite possibilities of an ever evolving practice, and in its innate power it defies labels and systems. It is an articulation of truth. Our training program is not just a yoga alliance certified 200 hour school (RYS200) but something deeply supplemental to any yoga practice.
The dates for the first level one training are set, and we’ll be in Mexico at Haramara Retreat Center from December 6th-15th this year. You can read more about the program on the divedeep page.
We have also scheduled a retreat at Villa Sumaya in Guatemala March 21st-28th, 2009. Lake Atitlan is a majestic volcanic lake and is a center of very old Mayan culture in the area. The lake is magical. This is the same retreat we were planning prior to Ayla’s birth and were unable to facilitate, so join us in March for an amazing getaway.
The workshop schedule is getting busier, and more events are scheduled for this Fall and Spring of 2009. Visit the workshops page to see what’s scheduled. For local Santa Fe students, I have happily received the Thursday 9AM level 2–3 class at YogaSource and it has been added to the regular class schedule.
Margi gave birth here at the house to our little baby girl Ayla on March 4th, and we have been immersed in babyland with our huge smiles and joyful tears. She’s amazing and has crazy legs and loves to stand with a little help at three months! We are making sure though that she will crawl first! And it follows that the page formerly known as “themonkey” is now updated to help us share our expanding family and is now called appropriately themonkeys.

2008 is off to a great start. New additions to this site are up, including news archives, an articles and publications section (yes, believe it or not, I am published, with more to come), and new events listed on the workshops page. I will be returning this year to Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta to teach on Graham Fowler's new 500 hour level advanced teacher training course. Very exciting!
If you are looking for information regarding teacher training, and are wondering why the button disappeared from the schedule menu, scroll down to the news archives link for 2007 and read about how I had decided to not offer a yoga alliance recognized course. Having reconsidered, I will move forward with it, but I would also like to emphasize the following:
Although yoga alliance teacher training certification is important, I do not want to emphasize that aspect of an offered course. The course will indeed be recognized by yoga alliance at the 200 hour level, and perhaps 500 hour level later on, if there is a need for it. I would like this program to appeal to any student or teacher looking to come home to themselves, and the authentic practice. Through much depth and studies we will dive deeply into the roots of what Patanjali articulated in his yoga sutras, and to find a personal practice for ourselves, our families, and our local and global community.
This course, beyond all else, will offer folks the opportunity to truly immerse themselves, a week or so at a time, in the great oceanic depth of a practice so versatile and ancient that we will have to find our voice and intuitive sensitivities to wield the power of the magic innate in us all.
Deepest peace to you all in the first wintery months of 2008. Look for more news soon. Oh yes, I almost forgot – Margi and I found out we are having a GIRL! Intuition served us well!
